Cancer and Careers empowers and educates people with cancer to thrive in the workplace. A variety of programs provide cancer patients and survivors with information needed to navigate the practical and legal challenges that follow a diagnosis. Online resources, available in English and Spanish, include career coaching, information on conducting a job search, resume review services, interviewing tips, free publications, support groups, and educational seminars. There are also resources specific to healthcare providers, employers, and coworkers. Callers may be asked to send an email with questions, or to leave a message.

The Cancer Legal Resource Center (CLRC), a program of the Disability Rights Legal Center, provides information to help educate and support patients, their families, healthcare professionals, and advocates on a variety of cancer-related legal issues, including: maintaining employment through treatment, accessing healthcare and government benefits, taking medical leave, and estate planning. Legal information and resources, including a Patient Legal Handbook, are available over-the-phone and online. The CLRC also maintains a panel of qualified attorneys who can be matched, upon request, with callers needing legal counsel. Those who wish to contact the CLRC national telephone assistance line will be asked to leave a voicemail message. Depending on call volume, it may take several days to receive a return call. CLRC encourages those interested in their services to contact them via email. Many online resources are available in Spanish.

Patient Advocate Foundation (PAF) is a national non-profit charity that provides direct services to patients with chronic, life threatening or debilitating diseases to help them access care and treatment recommended by their doctor. PAF's case management program provides one-on-one assistance to help patients, caregivers or providers resolve healthcare issues. Educational resources address a variety of topics, including finding financial assistance, understanding and accessing health insurance, and maintaining employment. The Scholarship for Survivors program awards college scholarships to individuals under the age of 25 who have been diagnosed and/or actively treated for a chronic, life threatening or debilitating disease within the past 5 years.
