The Colorectal Cancer Alliance is a national nonprofit organization that provides support to patients and families, caregivers, and survivors. It works to raise awareness of preventive measures, and to inspire efforts to fund research. Online resources provide information on screening, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship, as well as a variety of support services and information on financial assistance programs (including screening and treatment-related expenses). The Buddy Program matches survivors and caregivers with others in a similar situation for one-on-one support. Over-the-phone and online resources are available in English and Spanish.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) Colorectal Cancer Control Program (CRCCP) helps states and tribes across the U.S. increase colorectal cancer screening rates among men and women aged 50 years and older. Funds awarded by the CRCCP are used by states to promote colorectal cancer screening. Through this program, six states also provide direct colorectal cancer screening and follow-up services to people who meet specific criteria. Those states are: Delaware, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, and Washington. Other programs that do not offer screening services may refer to local resources for those seeking screening. Fight Colorectal Cancer (Fight CRC) is the leading patient-empowerment and advocacy organization in the United States, providing balanced and objective information on colon and rectal cancer research, treatment, and policy. Educational resources provide information on colorectal cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship. The Fight CRC Patient Resource Line, in partnership with the Cancer Support Community, connects callers to a variety of local and/or national resources, as well as provides short-term counseling, treatment decision planning, and financial counseling related to the costs of cancer and its treatments. Over-the-phone assistance, as provided by the Cancer Support Community, is available in over 200 languages.

Lynch Syndrome International (LSI) provides support for individuals afflicted with Lynch syndrome (a hereditary disorder that places a person at higher risk of developing colorectal cancer, endometrial cancer, and various other types of aggressive cancers), increases public awareness of the syndrome, educates members of the general public and health care professionals, and provides support for Lynch syndrome research endeavors.

LSI is an all volunteer organization founded and governed by Lynch syndrome survivors, their families, and health care professionals who specialize in Lynch syndrome. The LSI Web site has comprehensive information on diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up issues for people with Lynch Syndrome.
